This design is suitable for bureau scarfs, tidies, and any small piece of work. The dark glossy green leaves of the holly, tipped with a somber yellow, and the bright red berries make a very effective decoration, which is particularly well suited for articles designed for Christmas gifts.

The leaves can be worked in outline or solid embroidery, according to taste; the berries worked in solid in the satin stitch, wit a small dot of black.

To arrange a pongee tidy, one yard long, with th vine of holly on one end and a few smalls prays above, commenced, with silk to finish, costs $3.75 at the Society of Decorative Art.
